Charles the Concrete Outdoor Chair

Here comes Fred again.
This time, Fred has got it right again with his most extraordinary piece of outdoor furniture yet - Charles, the concrete chair and ottoman. A fibre-reinforced, polished concrete ode to the world's favorite lounger - The great Eames chair and ottoman.
Special concrete was shipped in to Singapore from the U.S.A. for the main ingredient in this unique concoction which allows the the concrete to be so super think and yet so incredibly strong. With higher resistance to surface abrasion than your regular glass-fiber reinforced concrete, this chair does not serve-up your average ingredients.
The structural strength and hardness are so much greater, that parts of the Charles chair are as thin as 3mm, with an average thickness of 8mm, making this chair delightfully manageable.
Internal hardware is in bedded in the thickest parts of the concrete to accommodate the hex bolts that hold the legs and headrest to the body. It takes 50 hours to complete each chair, which explains why just 45 pieces will be produced, making it a limited edition design not to be missed.
Each chair comes with a swanky 'Fred certificate' and embossed in the back of every Charles the chair is an official Fred Lives Here logo. To add the icing to the limited edition cake, you will find a cheeky Singapore 50 cent coin hidden down the back of the main seat cushion. That Fred - always losing stuff.

The Original Eames Chair
The original Eames Lounge and ottoman, released in 1956, were designed by Charles and Ray Eames for the Herman Miller furniture company. The first series were made of molded plywood and leather evolving to the current model made of veneer and leather. Different versions and direct copies were spawned over the decades with only Herman Miller and Vitra still producing this classic chair with the Eames name attached. As one of the prominent milestones the history of furniture design, the early Eames chair is now part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art.
